We are proud to be part of the GAA Healthy Club Programme, an initiative that supports GAA clubs in promoting the health and wellbeing of all members and the wider community.
Our goal is simple:
To create a club where everyone feels welcome, supported, and encouraged to live a healthy lifestyle.
This programme is about more than just sport; it’s about building a stronger, more connected community.

Club Priority Areas
Healthy Club Priority Areas
The Healthy Club Programme focuses on six key priority areas designed to support the overall wellbeing of our members and the wider community. These include Physical Activity, encouraging people of all ages and abilities to stay active; Mental Fitness, promoting positive mental health and resilience; and Healthy Eating, helping individuals make better nutritional choices to support both performance and everyday life.
In addition, the programme addresses Substance Use, raising awareness and encouraging healthy lifestyle decisions; Community Development, strengthening connections and fostering a sense of belonging within the club; and Diversity & Inclusion, ensuring that everyone feels welcome, respected, and able to participate. Together, these areas guide our efforts in creating a healthier, more inclusive club environment for all.
Fit for Feb 5 KM WALK/JOG/RUN INITIATIVE
Fit For Feb 5KM WALK/JOG/RUN PARTICIPANTS
Our Fit for February initiative proved to be a tremendous success and a fantastic example of what can be achieved when a community comes together. The 5K event welcomed participants of all ages and abilities, creating a positive, inclusive atmosphere from start to finish. It was especially encouraging to see so many people getting active and challenging themselves in a supportive environment.
The event was extremely well organised, with a lead car guiding participants safely along the route and dedicated marshals ensuring everything ran smoothly throughout. The addition of race timing brought an extra level of motivation, while refreshments at the finish line gave everyone a chance to relax, connect, and celebrate their achievement together.
With favourable weather adding to the occasion, the day was enjoyed by all and highlighted the strong sense of community within the club. Importantly, the initiative also encouraged many to begin or return to regular physical activity, showing the lasting impact that events like this can have. It has set a great foundation for future Healthy Club initiatives.
FIT FOR FEB/Sky Blue Healthy Club Volunteers/Team

Seachtain na Gaeilge (Irish Language Week)
Tyrrellspass GAA proudly celebrated Seachtain na Gaeilge with a range of activities designed to promote our native language in a fun, inclusive, and welcoming environment. The initiative encouraged members of all ages to use their cúpla focal and engage with Irish culture throughout the week. It was a great opportunity to bring the community together while celebrating an important part of our national identity.
Cic Fada Participants
Tae agus Plé session
A highlight of the week was the Cic Fada competition on Wednesday evening, which saw almost 45 children take part on the pitch, showcasing their skills and enthusiasm. On Thursday, the Tae agus Plé session provided a relaxed setting for adults to practice their Irish using conversation prompts, followed by tea, biscuits, and live traditional music. Together, these events created an enjoyable and meaningful celebration of language, sport, and community.
