About

Tyrrellspass GAA is never afraid of change and development. We strive to be better at all opportunties. We need to expand to continue to grow with our members. We have big plans for the club and know that with the support of our amazing community we will see these come to fruition.

The Plan

The Plan, Tyrrellspass GAA. 

 In Feburary 2021 we were approved for the following:

Floodlit playing Pitch with ball catchers

1200meter walking track with energy smart lighting

Biodiversity trail

Juvenile playing pitch

Training areas

Floodlit all- weather astroturf pitch and hurling wall

New building with changing rooms, referee room, bathrooms & Kitchen

Parking facilities

 

We now have to fund this project and see it to finality. To do this we will need to phase the development plans

Time Line & Events

 

August 2023 UPDATE

Levelling the pitch and walk way areas to correct and accurate levels which will allow pitch builders to commence pitch development and the walking track to be completed. We would like to thank our neighbours for their patience and understanding as the work continues at great speed outside their back door. Pitch Contractor PB Reynolds has visited site and plans are going very well. Huge progress made this month by Shannon Valley. Thanks to Sean Sheridan for his continued daily input overseeing works. Febuary 2022 -

Approved almost €84,000 from The Sports Capital and Equipment Programme (SCEP), operated by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.

 

December 2021 -

Launch of Fundraising for Phase 1 and development awareness campaign - press articles and fliers distributed throughout.

 

June 2021 -

December 2021 - applications submitting to various organisations for support funding. (expected outcomes early 2022)

 

June 2021 -

Cycle 4 Progress fundraiser where 70 club members fundraised to assist the project

 

Febuary 2021 -

Planning permission was approved for the Pitch and walkway

 

November 2019 -

Planning permission submitted by Tyrrellspass GAA Trustees

 

August 2014 -

Land adjacent to the club was purchased.

 

Ongoing

 

Our pitch development committee is working to establish the applications for funding establishing phases of development, Liasing with appropriate authorities and stakeholders.

To date inital fill of the site has taken place, thanks to Lorcan O'Brien and Shannon Valley for all the hard work.
