Match Report

We played Coralstown / Kinnegad on Sunday in the quarter finals of the senior championship. Tyrrellspass started off well in a game that we controlled and led 4 points to two after 15 minutes. This was a tight game with both defences coming out on top and at half time we were winning 5 points to four. As the second half went on we looked comfortable leading the whole way through but Kinnegad looked dangerous. Kinnegad should have scored a goal, stopped by excellent clearance from Kieran Corcoran while lying on the ground, he managed to got a foot to the ball and cleared it off the line. We held on and won by a point in a hard fought contest, Tyrrellspass 11 points toCoralstown / Kinnegad 10 points. A great win for the village, as we progress to the semi finals against Athlone in two weeks. Details of date, time and venue to be confirmed.
